Now there are people who use High-end devices and struggle with the Trackpad even if they have great buttons or nice feel the tracking and gestures are missing or do not function as they were intended to. This has mostly to do with software than it has to do with hardware and you may be amazed to know that this can be fixed very easily. Read this article to fix your Trackpad and to have a great experience.

There are many Trackpad related software and drivers in the market but there are three major drivers. The first is Synaptic Drivers and the next are ELAN drivers and the best are Windows Precision drivers. Now if your Laptop is already running Windows Precision drivers you are getting the most out of your Laptop and if you are not then there is something wrong with your Hardware which can be fixed but is very hard. But, if your Laptop is running Synaptic drivers or ELAN drivers you are at the right place and you deserve better. All you have to do is replace your ELAN or Synaptic drivers with Windows Precision drivers. You may ask, “That is going to be so difficult, Can I do it?” Well, yeah it is the easiest thing you can do. You can do so in just five to six steps.

Firstly, In order to replace your drivers you will have to find out what drivers your Laptop is running. You can do so by visiting Device Manager by Right clicking Windows Button or searching for it. Once you are there click on Mice and other pointing devices or what have you and see if it has ELAN or Synaptic drivers.

Then, Go to https://support.lenovo.com/in/en/downloads/ds104007 , If your device is running on Synaptic drivers or Go to https://support.lenovo.com/in/en/downloads/ds120858 , If your device is running on ELAN drivers and download your respective drivers.

Now run the .exe file and install the driver files to a location of your convenience. After that install the drivers and head to the next step.

Go back to the Device Manager and then again click on Mice and other pointing devices. Right click on update drivers and then select let me pick option and then browse the location you saved the files earlier and now click on next and yes to move on.

Pfffft…….. Now you have Windows Precision Drivers. We welcome you to your new life which is going to be full of gestures and good tracking. We hope this helps you to improve your touchpad or trackpad situation and we would suggest you to back up your old drivers or find one just in case anything goes south. If it didn’t work for you, you should get a MacBook because they are the ultimate trackpad or touchpad devices. You should switch drivers only at your risk and we are not responsible is anything wrong or bad happens to your device. And definitely do not perform this swap if you are newbie into tech world or don’t have much experience.
