New Under Display Fingerprint Scanner by Oppo is a Huge Improvement

Oppo didn’t only introduce its new Hybrid Optical 10X tech but also announced a new optical in-display fingerprint scanning technology. The new fingerprint scanning technology is said to be faster and covers a wider area than previous generations. Oppo has fitted out their phones with UD Fingerprint scanner but it was 1st Gen made by Synaptic.

The new in-display fingerprint scanning technology is said to cover 15 times the area of current versions. This should allow users to unlock their phones much more easily since the sensor area is now larger.

Oppo also claims that the new scanner is faster, more secure and even has better power consumption. Another new feature it brings is support for two-finger unlocking. With this, you can unlock your phone with two fingers simultaneously.

The larger surface area for scanning means that the user can register two fingers which increases safekeeping and speeds up unlock time. Oppo also stated that the new optical domain screen fingerprint technology meets payment-level security standards, supports optical domain encryption, and activates and unlocks encrypted applications with one click.
