Oppo Explains how Hybrid Optical 10X Zoom Technology will work

Oppo was said to be working on a 10X optical zoom technology and was also alleged to be developing a phone with this Tech that would debut at MWC 2019 in a couple of days. Oppo has now confirmed the development of the Tech which is said to making use of the phone’s lateral width to enable the necessary physical depth through the use of a periscope-style prism.

The device will use an Ultra-wide lens approximately 15.9-159mm equivalent to a camera which will convert to a medium POV when zoomed with a telephoto. The feature uses three lenses instead of two.

Oppo also claims that the setup will have optical image stabilization to the ultra-clear main camera and the periscope telephoto camera. Oppo hasn’t quite given out other measurements like Mega-Pixel count or aperture.

As this Tech comprises of three individual lenses working in collaboration to provide 10X zoom Oppo’s claims of “Lossless Zoom” might not turn out to be true thus the use of word “Hybrid”. OPPO also added that the new 10x hybrid optical zoom technology is ready for mass production so this may end up in OPPO phones launching this year.
