Alleged Mi 9 with Next Gen Under Display Fingerprint Scanner Video by Xiaomi CEO

    Xiaomi is mostly known by the masses for budget or mid-range devices with low to nearly no innovation or actual hardware development. But, a recent video from Company’s CEO proves otherwise. With the new development of Tech like UD Fingerprint scanner, Xiaomi is looking forward to competing with major players in the premium segment.

   Lin Bin, Company’s President as well as cofounder has posted a video on Weibo featuring alleged Mi 9 with next-generation Under Display Fingerprint scanner. The video firstly demonstrates the process of setting up the fingerprint for the first time.

    Interestingly enough it seems like the area of the scanner is much large than an existing one's, pair that with the claimed 15 percent faster unlocks (Which have not been tested) you have a great scanner.

    According to Lin Bin, the unlocking area is 50 mm by 25 mm, which is more than five times the UD area now and over 15 times the standard scanner on the back, used by Xiaomi.

    This might be a very interesting lead for many and might seem like the first time Xiaomi is trying to think out-of-the-box but in reality, they have tried wild ideas before with the slider Mi Mix 3 and Notched Mi 8 with IR blaster for face recognition and UD Scanner.
