Huawei Mate 20(Pro) Spotted At IFA 2018 with Different Triple Camera Set-up!

Many new announcements, launches, previews, and prototypes were seen! Huawei announced the new HiSilicon Kirin 980, Honor Magic 2, EMUI 9.0 and Huawei Mate 20 Lite! They announced that the Mate 20 line-up, launching on October 16 in London, will be the first set of devices to be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980. We will have an article soon on the detailed specifications, features, pricing, and availability soon so stay tuned. We already have the Huawei P20 Pro with its vertical triple camera set-up from Leica.

A hawk-eyed blogger, Spanish blog teknofilo, noticed that a Huawei representative (Speculated that he was wearing a Huawei wristband) had an unknown smartphone with a weird triple camera set-up with a block-shaped camera and flash at IFA 2018 show floor. It is clearly visible that the device has a triple camera set-up which hints this device could be the Mate 20 Pro with the massive triple-camera setup (first seen on the Huawei P20 Pro) at the rear. The three sensors and a flash are arranged in a square block module. A recent leak showed-off by xda also shows the same precise placement.

Not only the back but also the front was revealed with a cut-out in a thick case hinting to the possibility of the presence of for enabling a Quick Glance UI, the cut-out also reveals the curved glass and earpiece. This means that Mate 20 Pro (at least) could come with an in-display fingerprint sensor or a below-display scanner like P20 and Pro. There is also a possibility of the Mate 20 series launching with a Tear-drop notch like Oppo R17 Pro and others.

There will be no 3.5mm headphone jack in the Mate 20 Pro as there is no cut-out for it in the case and we also see a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the device. And a Sim or Micro-SD card slot is also seen next to it and no speaker grill is seen on the device. This possibly means the Mate 20 Pro will feature Front-facing stereo speakers. the Mate 20 series is expected to feature a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen, a glass sandwich design, wireless charging, Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, and a 4,200 battery pack.

A little bit on the Mate 20 Lite- It is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-device storage which is expandable by a Micro-SD slot which can expand storage up to 512GB. It will come in both single- and dual-SIM variants, depending on the market. The handset is priced at GBP 379 (roughly Rs. 34,800) across Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone retail stores in the US starting September 5, in Black, Platinum Red, and Sapphire Blue color options.
