ZTE Drills Hole In Display… Not For Camera But Earpiece!
Samsung’s hatred for notches is known to everyone by the way Samsung trolled Google during live Q and A for Pixel 3XL for the horrendous notch. Samsung, Huawei, and Lenovo aren’t the only ones wanting to put holes in their displays.
And now we learn ZTE is looking into holes in the display for tackling another problem - the earpiece. Although to be fair, Huawei might have thought about that first.
The Chinese manufacturer ZTE has applied for a design patent on 1 February 2018 which was published on 27 November 2018 by the Chinese patent office SIPO.
ZTE is going against the trend by utilizing the hovel for the earpiece and not the camera. The OEM is trying to reduce the upper bezel and potentially eliminate the need for a notch by making a hole for the earpiece. To know what happens next in the Tech World, Visit RW Tech Blog.
