Sony Xperia XZ3 Unveiled with Curved OLED Display, Snapdragon 845 & Android Pie at IFA 2018!

    Sony has not been an active player in the smartphone market for a long time. But at IFA 2018 Sony unveiled the Xperia XZ3 expanding its flagship smartphone coverage. Sony is also following the recent trend of a six-month upgrade cycle and has launched the successor of the Sony Xperia XZ2 in Berlin. The Sony Xperia XZ3 does not see much of an upgrade in terms of design, some hardware but not in terms of software. The Sony Xperia XZ3 comes loaded with Android Pie 9.0 out-of-the-box. The device will be available in four color variants- Black, White Silver, Forest Green, and Bordeaux Red.

    It should be noted that the Xperia XZ3 is one of the few devices that run Android Pie and only about 12.1% of phones operate on Android Oreo. It is not just the software but the XZ3 also sports the Top-Notch Octa-core, Snapdragon 845 processor with surprisingly not a-“Notch”. The Sony Xperia XZ3 pricing still remains a mystery, but the smartphone will be made available in selected markets globally from the end of September and will be among the first devices to ship with Android P.

    The Xperia XZ3 is the newest addition to the Xperia line-up and seems like Sony will sell a couple of units of this new device around the globe. It should be noted that the display and cameras of the device are expected to be excellent as they are by Sony and that’s kinda their thing. One physically uninviting element of the phone seems like the off-center awkwardly placed fingerprint scanner. And for the stock Android fans, a Sony device may be the one they are looking for but it certainly isn’t the best value for money device and will not compete with something like the POCO F1 or the OnePlus 6.
