Google Pixel 3 Ranks Best Single-Camera Android Phone, Scores 101 At DxO Mark!
Google Pixel 3 and 3XL are hands down on of the phones renowned for its photographic capabilities. DxOMark has finally published its review of the Google Pixel 3, giving it an overall score of 101, which breaks down into a 103 for photo and 98 for video.
The Pixel 3 is on par with Apple’s iPhone XR which is the best Single-Camera iPhone at 101 with 103 for photo and 96 for video. Where DxO found the Pixel 3 most improved over its predecessor is in Bokeh and Zoom, the latter being the biggest improvement, by far. The Pixel 3 "trounces other single-camera phones".
DxO also says, For all its advances in computational imaging, and improvement in Bokeh and Zoom scores, the Pixel 3 is still behind the top multi-camera phones in those areas. So for buyers looking for the ultimate in Portrait photography, and who also don’t mind the larger size of one of the multi-camera flagship models.
It should also be noted that DxO ended the post-review by saying, “It may be worth considering one of them as an alternative.” It’s a sad thing that DxO didn’t consider Night Sight as one of the features in the Pixel 3 review but was praised nonetheless.
