OnePlus 6T Launched With Bigger Battery, Teardrop Notch, and In-Display Fingerprint Scanner!

OnePlus announced the 6T a day earlier and it is a heck of a deal! The OnePlus 6T has been thoroughly covered on our site and now that it is finally here. Let’s see what it has to offer! To burst your bubble of excitement the Oneplus 6T is just an incremental upgrade over the 6 with some added functionality.

Half of the OnePlus 6T's improvements are in the hardware and the other comes through software. The former includes a smaller water drop-styled notch, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a larger battery. The latter include improvements to the camera and the performance. The Oneplus 6T has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 6 or 8 Gigs of RAM.

The Oneplus 6T base storage variant is 6GB+128GB and other options are 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB! The 6.4-inch panel of the OnePlus 6T is only slightly larger than the 6.28-inch of its predecessor but visibly taller when pitted side by side. Most importantly, the bottom bezel is even thinner now. And to juice, that big display the 6T has a 3700 mAh and that is an upgrade over the 3300mAh of the 6.

OnePlus like Xiaomi has used the same camera set-up as the earlier phone so the 6T has the same setup as the 6- a main 16MP f/1.7 OIS and a secondary 20MP f/1.7 that's upscale to produce 2x telephoto shots. On the front, there's a 16MP f/2.0. The good news is that they leveled up on the software.

Speaking of software OxygenOS under Android 9 Pie the OnePlus 6T has support for all manner of Android navigation - OnePlus' own gesture system (quite similar to Apple's gesture-based navigation), Android 9 Pie's native (pill) gesture navigation and the old three-button navigation.

If you are looking for new features the removal of the headphone jack is one of those (If you are a manufacturer) but the fingerprint scanner sits in the bottom half of the OnePlus 6T's screen, right where your thumb would naturally rest. The phone will display a fingerprint icon on the spot you need to put your finger once the phone is picked up. To complement the Notch the side and bottom bezels are much slicker than the Oneplus 6.

OnePlus still has the best 20W Dash Charge but with no wireless charging and the phone does come with a USB-C to 3.5mm Dongle and OnePlus has the fairly priced (€20/$20) USB-C Bullets headphones ready. The OnePlus 6T will be sold in three configurations - 6GB+128GB priced at $550, 8GB+128GB priced at $580 and 8GB+256GB, which will cost $630. The Oneplus 6T is just an incremental upgrade but that’s the best compliment you can give a phone in 2018. The OnePlus 6T will go on sale in North America on November 1 and then launch in Europe on November 6. To know what happens next in the Tech World, Visit RW Tech Blog.
