other misleading thing people hear or read. Then the same is followed by many
others and eventually it’s the right thing to be done. Some of these myths
terminate quickly and are not actually harming you or your device. But, some

1 Social Media Is Free
If you think that social media is free then
you are just a naïve internet user. Social Medias like Facebook, WhatsApp and
others even Google isn’t free. All of these giants use you data like cookies,
Browsing history, Opinions and feedback for advertisement generation and other
uses. All of these companies earn when you click their ads or pay any attention
to them. Next time you click on an amazon link to buy anything think about this

2 Typing URL Is Safest
If you think you become a pro internet pro by just typing
in the URL to stay away from any malicious website, then you should know that
you are still not safe. The most common trick used by spammers and malicious
websites is redirecting the user. Even if you type a URL, you can still be redirected
easily. The less-known or less-used method is key-logger. Key-logging means recording
or logging the keys stroke on a keyboard, normally secretly, such that the
person using the keyboard is oblivious of their actions being monitored.
3 File with Bigger Size ≠ Always Better
If you are one of the people who downloads the bigger
sized file thinking, “Yeah, It must be nice or high resolution” even if it is marked
the same resolution, think what you are doing.
Yeah most of the times you
are right and if it clearly says file one- HD and file two- Full HD and in this
situation you are right. But, Most smarty-pants think that the same edition of
game, Video or Music or anything is better if it is bigger. No, this is not
always true. It is possible the smaller file might be compressed or nicely
managed or does not include crapware or bloatware.
4 Disk Partition Improves Performance
No one knows how and when this myth originated. Believe it
or not Disk Partitioning does not improve or disprove the performance of your
device. Disk Partitioning is used primarily for management of, Well, Disk. Disk
partitioning is used in multiple scenarios. One of which is to install OS in
one drive and files in other.
5 Cryptocurrencies Are Illegal
While laws related to cryptocurrencies are
strict in most of the countries and it is very risky to invest in them, yet
cryptocurrencies are legal in most of the nations. People are always assuming
that cryptocurrencies are scam and illegal. Cryptocurrencies are unsupervised
but not illegal in most of the nations. Although in some nations they are risky
and you can know more about them here. But, we in general don’t suggest them if
you are not investing surplus amount.
6 Latest Updates Aren’t Always Good
There are many articles regarding this issue. Updates
usually for older phones are not always good. Your old phone might not be able
to take the load of the updates and perform poorly than before and there have
been cases where older phones were given updates to make the phone run slower
for whatever reasons. Security updates are necessary but not each and every
software update is going to boost performance.
7 Apps From App Store And Play Store Are Always Safe
This is the most common misconception that
people have including Apps. If an App is on the App store or Play Store it is
safe to be used for sure. Play store and App store are constantly trying to
remove malicious Apps and Fishy Apps, yet there is some garbage left over every
now and then. Most of the Apps are normal and don’t require much information or
permissions. But, If a camera App requires permission to you Contacts and other
confidential detail, Maybe reconsider your decision and take a look at a better
App.
8 SSDs Are Always Faster Than HDDs
This is partially true, SSDs are faster than HDDs in most
of the cases. But, making a purchase decision based on just their names and
assumption is wrong. Newer HDDs are faster than many cheapo SSDs and also have
longer life than previous ones. Even by comparing Read and Writer Speeds it is
not that big of a difference for a common user who doesn’t transfer files much,
but for a Content Creator that can be a deal maker or breaker. You can know
