Vivo Nex Specifications and More! The Truly Bezel-Less Smartphone!

     Today Vivo launched it’s highly anticipated Smartphone or the most anticipated Smartphone of 2018- The Vivo Nex. The phone was originally called the Vivo Apex but later they changed it to Nex. The Nex is Vivo’s High-End smartphone which pushes the Bezel-less revolution a step further. With a 98% display you are getting top-notch specifications too. Vivo Nex is a good choice form those in search of the ultimate Bezel-less smartphone in the market. Vivo has launched the Nex today in China at around 5:00 PM IST. The Vivo NEX is supposed to launch at 4,498 CNY or 45,500 INR or 674 USD. One of the most discussed features of NEX along with its Display is its front camera. It is obvious that you can’t place a camera on such a small and slick chin so the camera pops out of the head. It is an 8MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. There is no sound grill on it too, since it produces sound with the help of a piezoelectric speaker like the Xiaomi MI Mix. There are going to be two variants of the phone- The Vivo S and The Vivo NEX A. NEX S is going to be launched with same screen and display but a superior Snapdragon 845 and 8GB RAM and has 128GB or 256GB storage options from 3,798 CNY. Whereas, NEX A is said to be launched with Snapdragon 710 and 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The NEX a controversial device as it is not a typical smartphone for many reasons such as it does not use typical speakers and its popping camera. We all know that mechanical parts tend to tear out quicker and are fragile. Although, Vivo says that it will work fine for most of the part.

     One of the other unconventional thing about the NEX is it’s under display fingerprint scanner. Now Vivo has practiced the same with the Vivo X20 Plus UD. In that case the area of scanner was relatively smaller. The NEX has a rectangular area which is used to scan your fingerprint no matter where you put your fingers within the rectangle. The phone is going to be launched with all sensors such as Gyroscope, Fingerprint Sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Compass, GPS. The phones are going to come in two colour variants and both look elegant- Black and Red. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 is a new Mid-range processor by Snapdragon and is an Octa-core (2x2.2 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6x1.7 GHz Cortex-A55) and Adreno 616 GPU.

     The NEX replaces the earpiece from the front panel to achieve a bezel-less display. It leverages screen vibrations through a micro-vibration unit to generate the sound - similar to the first generation MI Mix bezel-less smartphone, which is known as piezoelectric speakers as we mentioned earlier. The mouthpiece appears to be placed in the lower bezel. The NEX is going to be a step further towards our ultimate or perfect smartphone.
