Redmi Y2 is a budget smartphone for Photography and offers some decent hardware with Software. The Redmi Y2 will be launched with Android Oreo on top of MIUI 10 out of the box. There are two variants of the phone the first is 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage for a price of 9,999 INR and 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage is for 12,999 INR. These is the first smartphone under 10,000 INR to offer a Dual camera setup and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, which is the same processor powering Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 5.


     At the launch event Xiaomi also talked about MIUI 10 which is well-suited for the new full screen smartphones with the new 18:9 aspect ratio. The Theme, Sounds and other UI features are now natural, No, Literally the new MIUI 10 offers you a Theme with Nature at its core. The new notification sounds and ringtones are inspired by natural elements like Rain, The sound of Sand in Desert and Drizzle. The new MIUI 10 is built on top of Android Oreo, Which means now you can get features like Picture- In – Picture mode and Autofill for passwords and many others. Xiaomi said that MIUI 10 Beta will be available for Many Smartphones. MIUI 10 is also going to bring in new quick actions for the Messages App. Now, when you get a message from IRCTC, You will see options to open their app or Copy OTPs. And of course MIUI 10 is going to be faster than Lightning fast MIUI 9 with UI optimizations.

     Now, Back to our question, Is Redmi Y2 worth your money? Yes, we would suggest you to buy Redmi Y2 if you want a camera centric phone with great performance and your budget is 10,000 INR. We don’t think that the 4 GB and 64 GB variant is a great deal as it costs 12,999 INR and you can get a Redmi Note 5 Pro at 15,000 INR which is a great smartphone according to our usage.
