Xiaomi Confirms: Mi Mix3 will Have 5G Connectivity and 10GB of RAM!
Xiaomi yesterday released a teaser for the
upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix3 AKA the sequel to the bezel-less series which features
the text that Mi Mix3 will have 5G and 10G and Xiaomi has finally confirmed
what the 5 and 10 stands for! The Mi Mix 3 will be among the first
5G-supporting smartphones on the market as well as the first one to feature
10GB of RAM.
10GB of RAM- that’s just nuts! No matter
from which angle you look at it even for future proofing 10GB of RAM seems superfluous!
The first official confirmation of the 5G support comes from Xiaomi Spain while
the 10GB of RAM rumor was backed up in a Weibo post. Here are the two posters
that also subtly hint of the slide-out cameras.
Leaving the 10GB of RAM deal out of the
conversation 5G is incredible but 5G is only being tested by Verizon in specific
locations so yeah, future-proofing. While most markets won't get them before
late 2019 and that's us being optimistic, it's probably good to be prepared for
that. Xiaomi might be using QUALCOMM’s X24 or X50 working side by side with the
Snapdragon 845, which in turn will affect battery life in a negative way.
But are the only ones from Qualcomm
and MediaTek processor aren’t powerful enough and Samsung wouldn’t lend their
modem. Or the phone might just wait for the Snapdragon 8150 to arrive before
entering production, which would suggest it's not coming until next year. But,
Xiaomi also say that the device is coming on 25th October in Beijing.
