Xiaomi Unveils Mi Mix3 with Four Cameras, 5G, 10GB RAM and Slider!
Xiaomi launched its Mi Mix3 in China today and is expected to hit the Global market soon! The device was thoroughly covered as it went through vigorous teasing by the company, leaks and renders on our site. The slider on the back of the handset is using a mechanical but uses magnets to stay in place and all of this sliding stuff gets you 93.4& Scree-to-body ratio.
The device has a 6.4” AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and the company claims a massive 93.4% screen-to-body ratio. Inside you will find a Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6/8/10 GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB storage options. You get a 10W charging capacity USB-C port on the bottom sadly there is no expansion or 3.5mm Headphone jack.
The Mix3 runs MIUI 10 on top of Android 8.1 and will sport a hardware button on the left side for the Xiao AI assistant. It only speaks Chinese, though, so it's not going to be available outside China, which raises the question of what the button will do there.
The sliding front houses a 24 MP + 2 MP front combo when slid out. The main sensor here is the Sony IMX576, which the company claims can achieve 1.8µm pixel size by 4-pixel binning in low-light environments. Its resolution is effectively reduced to 6MP in those conditions though.
On the back, you have a 12 MP + 12 MP, the primary sensor being Sony IMX363 with 1.4µm pixel size and f/1.8 lens, while the secondary telephoto cam has f/2.4 aperture and 1.0µm pixel size. Xiaomi shared some of the shot on Mix3 images and compared them to P20 Pro. For those wondering, the Mix3 can capture super slow-mo at 960fps.
The Mix3 will support 5G bands although that's only coming in Q1 of 2019. Xiaomi did confirm Europe will receive it but hasn't mentioned any other markets yet. All of the versions will come with official wireless charger and a protective case. The phone arrives in three colors - Jade Green, Sapphire Blue, and Onyx Black.
The price for the 6/128 GB variant is CNY3,299 ($474/€420), the 8/128 GB one is CNY3,599 ($515/€450), while the 8/256 GB is CNY3,999 ($575/€505). All versions will come with a 10W wireless charger included in the retail package as well as a protective case. The super high-end 10GB RAM variant is called Forbidden City and comes in a different hue of Blue. It will come with a gold-plated statue of a mythical Chinese creature in the box and will cost CNY4,999 ($720/€630). To know what happens next in the Tech World, Visit RW Tech Blog.
