Xiaomi Launches Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite/Youth!

    Xiaomi is on a high of launching phones after phone every month. Xiaomi added the Mi8 Pro and Mi8 Lite to Mi 8 family with the early arrivals being the Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer and Mi 8 SE. Yesterday, Xiaomi teased in a new teaser that Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth is named as Mi 8 Lite. We were not expecting any Mi8 Pro but Xiaomi surprised everyone by keeping it a surprise.

    Understandably, the Mi 8 Pro is the Higher-end variant and seems like the international Mi 8 Explorer edition. The device does not pack in IR face unlock like the POCO F1 and the Mi8 but has a pressure sensitive screen Fingerprint scanner. The Mi 8 Pro will be available in Blue and Gold (while also being offered with the transparent back the Mi 8 Explorer comes in).

    The Mi 8 Pro sports a 6.21” 1080×2248 Resolution OLED display, Flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, a 12MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/2.4 dual-rear cameras and a 20MP Front facing camera, and a 3000 mAh battery. Read the complete specs of Mi8 Pro here.

    The Mi 8 Lite features a 6.26” 1080x2280 pixels Resolution IPS LCD display, Mid-Range Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, a 12MP + 5MP rear camera, a higher-res 24MP selfie camera and a 3,350mAh battery. Read the complete specs of Mi8 Lite here.

    Both of these handsets are supposed to go up for sale on pre-orders from September 19 and will start shipping from 25 September. The Mi 8 Pro will be priced at CNY 3,200 (€400) for the 6GB/128GB model and CNY 3,600 (€450) for the range-topping 8GB/128GB and will start shipping on September 21. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite will go for CNY 1,400 (€175) for the 4GB/64GB model, CNY 1,700 (€210) for the 6GB/64GB and CNY 2,000 (€250) for the 6GB/128GB model.
