Redmi Note 7 Debuts with 48MP Rear Camera Starting $150

    The emergence of Redmi as a new independent brand has its first product in the streets already- The Redmi Note 7. The Redmi Note 7 is here with a Dual-rear camera consisting of a 48MP Samsung ICOSELL Bright GM1 sensor and some amazing specs starting at just $150!

    The device has a 6.3” IPS LCD display with the Gorilla Glass 5 and a water drop notch which houses the 13MP selfie shooter. The display has an FHD+ resolution and Redmi claims that the device with its notch provides you with 84% screen-to-body ratio. The actual resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

    The Snapdragon 600 SoC might be too old but works just fine with 2.2 GHz and varies in three memory combos the - 3/32 GB, 4/64 GB, and 6/64 GB and there is a microSD slot as well. The battery here is 4,000 mAh like many Redmi devices and supports Quick Charge 4. The Note 7 has a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

    The devices’ main selling point and the highlight is it cameras. Its native resolution is 48 MP, but due to its Quad-Bayer filter, it's better used for outputting 12 MP images with large 1.6 μm pixels and real-time HDR. There is a secondary 5 MP shooter for AI purposes and Portrait Mode. The selfie snapper, tucked in the notch, is 13 MP.
    The Note 7 runs on Android Pie 9.0 on top of MIUI 10. The Note 7 will be made available in Blue, Twilight Gold, and Black starting January 15. The pricing varies- CNY1,199 for the 4/64 GB phone and CNY1,399 for the 6/64 GB variant. As it also turns out the Redmi X is Redmi Note7.
