The Royole FlexPai- World’s First Flexible Phone- A Phone & A Tablet!
While companies like Samsung and LG are out there teasing foldable phones, in walks Royole (Rouyu), a China based Tech Start-up and launched the world's first foldable smartphone with a flexible display called FlexPai on Wednesday, positioning the newbie ahead of major corporations in terms of innovation. Foldable smartphones sound cool on paper but it requires real R&D department to make a functioning Folding Phones.
FlexPai can be pre-ordered for $1,588 for the 128GB variant and $1,759 for the 256GB model. The specifications of the phone haven't been detailed as yet, but the company offers a quick glance at what can be expected from its future-proof smartphone. Before you get all excited, anything about this device is not guaranteed by the brand and could dry-away or end-up like the RED Hydrogen One.
The company claims that the device will be powered by Snapdragon 855, which the company is referring to as Snapdragon 8150 since Qualcomm is yet to officially announce it. Very suspicious might we add. The device is supposed to be powered by a 7.8-Inch AMOLED display when used in Tablet mode and 4-Inch in phone mode and has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1440 pixels with 4:3 aspect ratio.
The device can be folded from0-180 degrees to switch between two modes. The device is also said to have some other High-End Specs like up to 512GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, 3,800 mAh battery, 16MP, and 20MP Front and Rear Cameras. FlexPai is 7.6mm thick and weighs 320grams, which doesn't sound quite comfortable.
We hope that the FlexPai is real and not a bluff but it seems real and above is a video about Royole FlexPai. Say goodbye to rigid surfaces; FlexPai will completely change your perception of a traditional mobile phone and the need to own multiple mobile devices," Royole says. The unit can be used either folded or unfolded, giving it the portability of a smartphone plus the screen size of a high-definition tablet.
