Alleged Samsung Patent Indicates In-Display Fingerprint Scanner In Galaxy S10!

Samsung Galaxy S9 felt like a complete phone by Samsung with keyword being “by Samsung” and Note9 followed the same trend and did it a little better with the water cooling, S-Pen, Battery, & Fingerprint scanner placement! But, it was just a regular phone with no wow factor but now the S10 is rumoured to have an in-display fingerprint scanner! Though this is not the first time we see a similar patent, it is the most advanced implementation so far.

Rumours of the Galaxy S10 started popping around the internet a while ago and since then we have been seeing some crazy bezel-less, futuristic and amazing renders of the device. In-display fingerprint scanner was expected with the Note9 or the awesome new mid-rangers from Samsung like the A7 and the A9 but now it is suspected that Samsung is developing their own technology and possibly better than Synaptic.

Today, the WIPO published a patent application titled ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING BIOMETRIC SENSOR. It was filed there earlier this year, but the original Korean patent application dates back to April 2017. The patent unlike similar patents that showed far more abstract implementations. The general area of the sensor is pressure-sensitive, just like the virtual home key on Galaxy S and Note models.

Keep in mind that these reports are clearly based on our speculations and some other sources and not from any official sources. Nevertheless, this could well end up being the way Samsung implements its own in-display fingerprint reader in upcoming phones, no matter how they look. The area of the scanner is really compact and unusual too for a fingerprint to be recognised and correctly to land on it first as the ones in Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi phones are big enough!
