The new
features brought by the last and 4th beta update bring along many
better features. And here they go:
- · Adaptive Battery: Using Machine learning to keep only frequently used apps awake.
- · App Actions: Predicting actions you might take based on your previous actions.
- · Slices: Same as App actions and allows you to take direct actions within google search results, for example, ordering Cabs form search.

Those are just
some of the features of Android P with many being silent and under the hood and
some just very loud. Android P is rumoured to have names like Android Pie, Android
Pecan Pie or Android Pumpkin Pie, thanks to a reference to Android Pi within
the Android Open Source Project. But that doesn't sound very Google. The most
likely name of Android P is Pistachio according to us. The Beta is available on
Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, plus the Nokia 7 Plus, Essential
Phone, Oppo R15 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ2, Vivo X21UD, Vivo X21, OnePlus 6 and
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. And whenever the stable version of Android P is released Pixel
devices will be the first to receive the update.
According to
the now-available information Android P will be officially released in mid-late
august. The newest date that has come to limelight is August 10. This week,
leaker Evan Blass shared a calendar for the month of August with a green P on
the 20th. It doesn’t take much detective work to figure out that he is claiming
the public release of Android 9.0 P will take place on Monday, August 20th,
which just so happens to be exactly 364 days since the release of Android 8.0
Oreo.
