All You Need To Know About New Version Of Chrome!

After Gmail, Chrome is about to get the biggest revamp in design and UI. Gmail’s new design is modern, fresh and easy to use. Gmail 2.0 is the best revamp we have seen in a while and was really awaited. Among all Google services, Google Chrome is the most used Browser and it is way over due for a revamp in design and functionality. Recently there have been many leaks of the new UI of Google Chrome. As of June 2016, according to StatCounter, Google Chrome had 62% worldwide desktop usage share, making it the most widely used web browser, while Firefox had 16% and Internet Explorer had 12%. There is an 80% chance you are reading this in Chrome as it has a massive 64.72% market share in terms of browsers.

Dev Beta Build
Google Chrome for desktop is expected to soon get an updated look based on Material Design 2. They originally started testing new design language back in April, But it’s only being rolled out to latest Canary channel build for chrome on Windows, Linux and Chrome OS. The new interface brings along a dozen of visual and under the hood changes including a new address bar, redesigned tabs and updated colours. The Omni box suggestions icons, tab strips colouring, pinned tabs and alerts indicators will also reportedly undergo some changes as part of the new design overhaul. The new version of chrome is not only supposed to bring new UI but also some more functionality and tweaks under hood so that Chrome will take less space in RAM.

Google is also adding some functionality to Chrome on Android with features like Quick Reply. Your Browser could already send you notifications but Quick replies adds the functions like Mute, Open, or Reply to notifications form a website right from the Notification without opening browser. Quick replies are currently being tested internally, so you won’t be able to check this feature in Canary or Dev builds. One more of such feature being added to Chrome is that it might soon warn you about websites that take more time to load. This feature is being called as ‘Huge Page Capping’. This feature was also seen with ‘Download Home’ feature which it going to make downloads management easy. Both of these features can be tried in Chrome Canary and Dev Builds.

Chrome is going to be even more useful and attractive after this update for you. As of February 2018, Chrome is the most used browser in virtually all countries, with most exceptions in Africa. There are many other chats about Chrome such as it will soon let you customise shortcuts and many more, But they were not huge or not certified. You can try out these new features mentioned above by trying out new Beta build of Chrome by typing this in the address bar: chrome://flags#ntp-custom-links and installing the beta version. It says clearly that this is not a stable build and you will compromise on Security, Stability and Privacy for new UI. For more Tech news and information on tech, Visit RW Tech Blog.
