Honor Introduces Bezel-less Magic 2 with FullView Display & Slide-Out Cameras!

At IFA 2018, Huawei’s sub-brand- Honor teased the second generation of Honor Magic alongside the Kirin 980 SoC, more on which later. For those who don’t’ know what Honor Magic is, it’s Honor’s smartphone series which only had one device before the Magic 2- The Magic. For the first phone, the device was a 2016-17 device with HiSilicon Kirin 950 priced at 500 Euros!

The Honor Magic 2 is going to be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset which is a blast at least based on what Honor reported. George Zhao, President of Honor mentioned some key specifications and features. The most appreciated is the FullView Display which basically means a Bezel-less screen! Which means there will be no notch, no cut-out, no chin or any kind of obstruction. And as you may have figured out by yourselves, the device will have slide-out cameras as there's no room for one on the front. And yes, it looks a lot like Oppo's Find X. The device is very much identical to the Oppo Find X and seems like many companies will follow this trend and even Xiaomi previewed their Oppo Find X like Mi Mix 3.

When George Zhao previewed the device it seemed like he manually pulled the cameras out. So what’s the deal, Motor or no Motor? We are not sure if the slide out portion is automatic or manual but other talked features are the charging wattage! The Magic 2 will come with upgraded Magic Charge supporting up to a whopping 40W charging speeds. The presenter also outlined that it's safe to use thanks to the 15-layer safety protection system and auto identification of three critical parts in the charging system.
